Hello folks,

My colleague, Lourens Swanepoel and I have some funding for a post-doc based at the University of Venda in South Africa. The funding is not tied to any specific projects, but we have mountains of really neat data sets (eg, carnivore SCR, mammal community camera trapping, invertebrate sampling, audio recordings of bats and birds), and all focussed on south African ecology and conservation. We are looking for someone who has, or wants to develop their quantitative skills and there is a lot of scope to define the direction of the work. Given the amount to data you will have access to (and the ideas we have for questions we would like to ask) it is likely to be a productive post-doc.

If you are interested in talking more about it, feel free to reach out to myself (cs...@st-andrews.ac.uk) and Lourens (lourens....@univen.ac.za).

Chris
