Dear all,
We (Andy Royle, Josh Twining, Ken Kellner, and I) are hoping to run an in-person
Applied Hierarchical Modelling (AHM) workshop in the fall of this year, but given the current uncertainty many are facing in the U.S., we wanted to gauge interest
before we drive forwards with this plan.
The workshop would be hosted in the beautiful Pacific Northwest at Oregon State University in Corvallis, from 27–31 October 2025. It will be focused on the use of likelihood and Bayesian methods to fit a large range of hierarchical models, critical tools to
all ecologists and wildlife managers. The workshop consists of a mix of lecturing and active learning with hands-on assistance from us helping you understand and apply a variety of models. The typical audience is a mix of graduate students, postdocs, and wildlife
professionals, and topics include:
-
Occupancy models for binary detection/nondetection data
-
Multi-species occupancy and abundance-mediated interaction models
-
Binomial N-mixture models for count data
-
Multinomial N-mixture models for capture-recapture data
-
Distance sampling models
-
Integrated models
You will find some additional information in the attached flier.
Thanks, best regards,
Marc, Josh, Andy, and Ken
