Let it begin!

I apologize for the spam messages/threads that get left here.
The evil spam robots like to message here. Whenever I see them I
report them as spam and, as the moderator, they get removed shortly
thereafter. If you see them, please excuse us. I don't know how to
keep them out. I just know how to get rid of them (and add their
posting IP addresses to the "banned" list).

Now, which Blindside album should we pick?

About a Burning Fire =)

child of the 90s so this list won't be all encompassing but here's
some thoughts

Project 86 - Songs to Burn Your BRidges By (though Drawing Black Lines
will end up as their representative, and I can't entirely argue with
that in terms of 'impact'- And The Rest Will Follow might be their
most consistently solid 'album' though, DBL and StBYBB have weak
second halves)
POD Satellite
Stavesacre Speakeasy (Sorry, Absolutes is average. Won't be shocked to
see Friction because it's people's 'first' but Speakeasy is easily
their best album)
Grammatrain - Lonely House
DC Talk - Jesus Freak
Common Children - Delicate Fade
LSU - Grace Shaker
Starflyer 59 - The Fashion Focus, Old
Relient K - Forget & Not Slow Down
mewithoutYou - Brother, Sister (I came late to the party and think
their first two albums are overrated)
Value Pac - Jalapeno
Pep Squad - No Doy!
Bleach - Again, for the First Time
Tourniquet - Pathogenic Occular Dissonance
Plumb - Chaotic Resolve or s/t
Skillet - Hey You, I Love Your Soul (their best, most creative and
artistic album)
Danielson - Tri-Danielson (Omega)
Aleixa - Disfigured
Circle of Dust - S/t
Argyle Park - Misguided
Chatterbox - Despite
Massivivid - Brightblur
Audio Adrenaline - Some Kind of Zombie
Bride - Snakes in the Playground
Caedmon's Call - 40 Acres
Chasing Furies - With Abandon (ONLY ONE ALBUM... BAH!)
The Choir - Flap Your Wings (or more likely one of their earlier
albums)
Delirious? - Mezzamorphis
Disciple - BY GOD
Echoing Green - Supernova or Winter of our Discontent
Five Iron Frenzy - Quantity is Job 1 EP (their best output, EP or no)
Guardian - Buzz
Jars of Clay - Good Monsters
Joy Electric - Robot Rock, CHRISTIANsongs for early stuff; Tick Tock
Treasury or Hello, Mannequin for recent - Melody sucks!
Larry Norman - Only Visiting This Planet
Leaderdogs for the Blind - s/t WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS BAND
Michael Knott - Rocket & a Bomb
MxPx - Life in General
Plankeye - Relocation
Poor Old Lu - a Portrait of the Eighth Wonder
The Showdown - Temptation Come My Way
Siloam - Sweet Destiny
Stryper - To Hell With The Devil
Underoath - In Regards to Myself

Here's a few I've loved over the years, in no particular order:

Tourniquet- either Psychosurgery or Pathogenic (can't make up my mind,
but definitely one of not both should be there)
Vengeance- Human Sacrifice
Deliverance- Weapons of our Warfare
Believer- Sanity Obscure
Mortification: Post Momentary Affliction
Galactic Cowboys- Space in Your Face
P.O.D.- Fundamental Elements of Southtown
Project 86- And the Rest Will Follow or Drawing Black Lines
King's X- Dogman
MXPX- Life in General
mewithoutYou- Brother, Sister
Switchfoot- The Beautiful Letdown
Thrice- Vheissu
Blindside- About a Burning Fire
DC Talk- Jesus Freak
FIF- Our Newest Album Ever
MuteMath- self-titled (not heavy, just really, really good)

(Petra Parenthesis: The first Christian rock song I ever heard was
"This Means War", and that album is probably their "heaviest", but I
like Not of this World the best.)

Can I put a U2 album on here? If so, "War".

I'm sure there's a lot of other great ones I'm forgetting, and I'll
probably do a facepalm about a minute after I hit Send.

John Rueben

"Rock" and "...of All Time" is what I'll use as my criteria here, so
I'll try to exlude the CCM and Pop flavored albums. I'll keep in mind
that Christian "rock" changed (just like secular rock) over the past
several decades...my favorites include:

Larry Norman - Only Visiting This Planet (1972)
Larry Norman - In Another Land (1976)
Daniel Amos - Shotgun Angel (1977)

Daniel Amos - Doppelganger (1982)
Petra - More Power To Ya (1982)
Servant - World of Sand (1982)

(1985)

cover on this one!]
Mylon LeFevre & Broken Heart - Sheep In Wolves Clothing (1985)
Stryper - Soldiers Under Command (1985)
Tonio K - Romeo Unchained (1986)
Michael W. Smith - The Big Picture (1986) [yes, MWS was actually
rocking on this one]

The Swirling Eddies - Outdoor Elvis (1989)

easily been a double album they're so alike]

Daniel Amos - Kalhoun (1991)
Allies - Man With A Mission (1992)

Sacred Warrior- Rebellion
Hearing that album for the first time was the moment I realized there
was christian metal that didn't suck. Maybe my high school friends
wouldn't laugh at this one.

There are only 2 albums that I will be sad if they aren't included:

77s - Pray Naked
Poor Old Lu - Sin

I'd throw in Vigilantes of Love - Killing Floor, too, but probably not
for this list.
