Last week of classes – and the WLA still has a couple great events left!  Also, don't forget to submit your outlines for a chance to win an iPod!

ACS/WLA Clerkship Panel 
Interested in clerkship? Want an insider's perspective into the process? Please join ACS and the WLA for a tips session about the whole clerkships process with everything from choosing recommenders and judges to scheduling interviews. The panel will feature Jason Harrow (9th Cir., SDNY); Phil Mayor (9th Cir.; Federal Claims Court); and Chelsea Sharon (D.C. Cir; SDNY). Monday, April 18 at 12pm in Pound 102. PIZZA lunch! 
  
Dukes v. Wal-Mart: Sex Discrimination Class Action in the Supreme Court 
Join the WLA on Tuesday, April 19th, from 12-1:15pm in Langdell North for a discussion with Joseph M. Sellers, head of the Civil Rights and Employment practice group at Cohen Milstein. Mr. Sellers is currently representing a class of more than 1.5 million women employees at Wal-Mart stores, alleging sex discrimination in promotions and pay decisions. Non-pizza lunch will be served. Cosponsored by: ACLU, JLG, LEAP, La Alianza and the Southern Legal Society. See attached poster. 
  
WLA Panel: How to Manage Your Career 
On Thursday, April 21, from 12:00-1:00pm, in Griswold 110, prominent female lawyers from Sullivan & Cromwell will share their experiences rising up the ranks at their firms and offer advice and strategies that will help lead others to a successful and rewarding legal career. Topics of conversation will include: communicating your interests, knowing the players and the environment, strategizing to get the work you want, practicing professionalism and sound judgment, pursuing cutting edge and challenging work, building relationships, and giving and taking credit for a job well done. Student comments and questions will be encouraged. Lunch provided!

You've made it through the entire year. Come celebrate the last day of classes with music, snacks, and fun! Friday, April 22, 4-5:30pm on the Hark Patio (rain location John Chipman Gray).

Calling all 2Ls and 3Ls! Remember those outlines you spent hours crafting? Those exams you worked so hard on?  Put them to good use by contributing your old outlines and exams to the WLA Outline & Exam Bank and continue the tradition of women supporting women! For every outline sent before April 22nd, we'll add your name to the ipod shuffle raffle! Apply for the Board of Directors of Student Government 
Apply now for one of seven positions on the Board of Directors of Student Government for 2011-2012!  The application process is simple and quick! We are just looking for hard-working and motivated people who want to help represent the student voice. It is extremely important that WLA members step up to help represent WLA's interests!  The seven Director positions are detailed in the link below, but the quick one-liners if needed are as follows: Academic Affairs (Registrar/grade reform), Events (school-wide mixers and charity events), Faculty Engagement (faculty involvement in programming and facilitating faculty lunch/dinner program), Finance (managing SG budget and overseeing Student Funding Board allocations to all student organizations), Internal Affairs (takes minutes and governs internal operations), Student Engagement (reaches out to student body and works with other Directors), and Student Organizations (student organizations' point person; reforms student group formation processes as well as funding allocation).  Our final information session is on Tuesday, April 19th, from 12:30-1:00 in Pound 207. BLSA Social Justice Committee Presents: The Social Justice Visual Showcase 
As part of HBLSA Social Justice Week (April 16-23), we present our second annual exhibit of visual art, poetry, and film showcasing the work our Committee has done in the community over the past year. The exhibit will showcase creative works done by young women incarcerated at the Metro Youth Detention Center as well as men from Brooke House Boston, a transitional facility for formerly incarcerated men. We will also be showing a short film produced by our Food Justice and Fair Housing subcommittees highlighting the food access problems plaguing low income communities. Appetizers and drinks will be served! Friday, April 22, 7pm, Pound 335.
