Conference countdown: As of today, we're only 25 days away from the year's biggest WLA event!  

  
The Women's Law Association asks you to save the date for our Fifth Annual Conference -- This is What Equality Looks Like: The World We Want for Women and Girls.  Our conference will take place on Friday, February 11, 2011 in Ropes-Gray.  The conference will include four impressive panels, Judiciary, Economics, Girls, and Health, as well as a Keynote Address, which will be announced at a later date. WLA Announces New Domestic Violence Court Watch Program 

This spring, the WLA will launch a domestic violence court watch program to collect data on the disposition of domestic violence cases in the Boston area. Volunteers will travel in groups to downtown Boston twice per month to observe court hearings. Information sessions will be held during the first week of spring semester. Interested participants should attend one of two lunchtime information sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, January 26th and 27th (location TBA). Volunteers will then attend one training session before participating in the program. Watch the WLA weekly postings for more information! 
  

First Annual WLA Fashion Swapaganza 

The WLA and Green Living Program are sponsoring a fashion swap for men, women, and children. To refresh your closets, bring clothes to donate January 31 - February 4th at tables in the Hark during lunch. For every 2 items donated, come to our Fashion Swapaganza on Sunday, January 6th, at noon to pick out a new item. Bonuses for business attire and winter coats & boots. Representatives from local shelters will attend the Swapaganza to talk with interested volunteers. So start collecting your clothes now! 
  

JLG Student Note Competition 

Submissions for the Journal of Law and Gender Student Note Competition are due on Friday, January 21.  Please submit articles by email to hls...@law.harvard.edu. We look forward to reading them! Competition winner(s) will be published in the Summer 2011 Symposium issue of JLG.
