Breakfast Roundtable with Congresswoman Niki Tsongas  

Join us for breakfast and conversation with Congresswoman Niki Tsongas on Tuesday, April 12, at 8:30 am in John Chipman Gray. Congresswoman Tsongas was the first woman from Massachusetts elected to Congress in twenty-five years. She current serves on the House Armed Services Committee and Natural Resources Committee. This breakfast event will be an exciting opportunity to here about lessons learned running for and serving in elected office by a female attorney who has lead a trailblazing career.  
  

Make it BIG!  Meaningful Change through Impact Litigation 

Ever wondered how impact litigators choose their clients or prepare for cases? Now is your chance to find out. WLA presents Make it BIG! Meaningful Change through Impact Litigation. A panel of practitioners will answer your questions and participate in break-out discussions, giving you a chance to interact with them in a small group setting. Participants will share their experiences using impact litigation to address: medical access for prisoners with HIV; constitutional rights in South Africa; employment civil rights; predatory lending and the consumer needs of domestic violence victims; welfare law; and plaintiff-side tort litigation. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to connect with experienced public interest litigators!  Tuesday, April 12, 7:30 - 9:30, Harkness South.  Dinner will be served.  
    

Insider Perspectives of the Harvard Law Review

After resounding success last year, HLSRJ and our array of fabulous co-sponsors once again bring you a raunchy and rollicking night of zany facts, jokes, and brain-teasers about everyone's favorite taboo topic, sex! Hosted by the infinitely amusing Dan Cluchey, and featuring free prizes likes LSRJ goodies, Westlaw & Lexis points, and bucketfuls of condoms, as well as free drink tickets, this is a pre-finals night of fun you won't want to miss. So join us at Tommy Doyle's on April 14th at 8 pm to test your sexpertise while engaging in an open, funny, and lively dialogue about sex and stay for Bar Review afterwards. Interested in clerkship? Want an insider's perspective into the process? Please join ACS and the WLA for a tips session about the whole clerkships process with everything from choosing recommenders and judges to scheduling interviews. The panel will feature Jason Harrow (9th Cir., SDNY); Phil Mayor (9th Cir.; Federal Claims Court); and Chelsea Sharon (D.C. Cir; SDNY). Monday, April 18 at 12pm in Pound 102. PIZZA lunch! 
  

Dukes v. Wal-Mart: Sex Discrimination Class Action in the Supreme Court 

Join the WLA on Tuesday, April 19th, from 12-1:15pm in Langdell North for a discussion with Joseph M. Sellers, head of the Civil Rights and Employment practice group at Cohen Milstein. Mr. Sellers is currently representing a class of more than 1.5 million women employees at Wal-Mart stores, alleging sex discrimination in promotions and pay decisions. Non-pizza lunch will be served. APALSA EIP Insiders Tips Panel 

Join APALSA on Thursday, April 14th in Ropes Gray from 7-9 pm for the EIP Insiders Tips Panel, designed to give 1Ls an "inside look" into how the EIP process works and what law firms look for.  The event will feature panelists from five different law firms: Choate, Gibson Dunn, Goodwin Procter, Paul Weiss, and Wachtell.
