Background: I’ve been a bookkeeper for two years, certified in QuickBooks, but currently in college to get my accounting degree. As I’m taking some of these accounting courses, I see how much QuickBooks simplifies things—sometimes too much. I like to see what’s going on under the surface, and QuickBooks abstracts a lot of that away.
I’m wondering if there’s anyone here who primarily uses hledger/ledger for their business’s books (or if you’re an accountant, for clients’ books). Some clients I couldn’t do this with, because their situation is pretty complicated and they’re already heavily tied into the QB ecosystem anyway. But I’m just thinking of times where if a client’s situation isn’t too complex and they don’t want to spend the $30+ on QuickBooks on top of my services, I have another way to help them.
Thanks,
Brandon
