question: CSV import rules not permitting automatic balance for amounts

Following the example in the documentation found here: https://hledger.org/hledger.html#amazon

I assumed that if I don't assign amount1:

> # leave amount1 blank so it can balance the other(s).

But did assign amount2, hledger would be able to assume the amount came from the other account thus keeping the transaction balanced.

However, this does not seem to be the case in hledger 1.23. `hledger --import` still automatically assigns a negative value of amount2 to amount1. How can I get the behavior as described in the example linked above where only a single amount is included in the journal?
