Thank you for your questions.
Is XTN Extended Telecommunication Number (XTN) datatype's first field (Telephone Number) removed? In the Implementation Guide for Immunization Messaging v2.5.1 it is marked with X Usage. Is this mean we shouldn't place any value in the field/element?
Yes, “X” Usage means the data element is not to be included in the message, and PID-13.1 (Telephone Number) has Usage “X”.
For VXU messages do we need to remove the values of NK1[x]5[x].1 and PID[x]-13[x].1 elements to get NIST validation success?
Yes, because both NK1-5.1 and PID-13.1 have Usage “X”.
Also could you please share the IG ONC rules which NIST tool follows for v2.5.1?
Requirements included in the NIST Immunization Test Suite are named in the ONC certification criterion §170.315(f)(1) Transmission to immunization registries, which names HL7 v2.5.1 Implementation Guide for Immunization Messaging, Release
1 and HL7 v2.5.1 Implementation Guide for Immunization Messaging (Release 1.5)— Addendum, July 2015 as the standards.
