Hi Team,

We are currently reviewing the immunization messaging requirements and noticed a discrepancy regarding the "Partially Administered" vaccination status.

In the documentation provided, "Partially Administered" is mentioned; however, we could not find any reference to this value in the supported vaccine administration statuses within the VXU message type plans. We would like to confirm whether this status is expected to be supported in VXU messages and, if so, under which field and code system it should be represented.

Could you please clarify the following:

  • ·         Is "Partially Administered" an accepted status in the VXU message structure?
  • ·         If yes, what is the expected coding or HL7 representation for it?
  • ·         If not supported, should we ignore this status during implementation/testing?

We would appreciate your guidance to ensure proper compliance and data integrity during our implementation.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to your response.

Regards,

Jyothi Yella

Hi Jyothi,

  1. Yes, "Partially Administered" is an accepted status in the VXU message structure
  2. “PA” from the code set HL70322_IZ (Completion Status). It is required to be supported, however, we do not explicitly test for it in ONC certification.
  3. This is a local determination or product determination on whether support for this concept is needed. The NIST tool does not test this for ONC certification.
