Dear NIST Immunization Test Tool Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I am currently working on ONC certification for an EHR system, specifically implementing the Immunization reporting interface. While preparing for the NIST Immunization Test Tool validation, I would like to clarify a few technical details regarding SOAP communication.

At present, in our development environment we are using an internal mock server to simulate the immunization endpoint. Our application sends the request to this mock server, and based on the context-based test data specifications we retrieve the required data from our database and generate the corresponding response.

However, I would like to confirm the expected approach for the NIST testing process, particularly regarding the following points:

  1. The required SOAP Envelope structure for immunization message exchange during NIST validation.

  2. Whether the NIST Immunization Test Tool expects a live SOAP endpoint from our system or if message validation is performed only by uploading HL7 message payloads.

  3. Any specific requirements for SOAP connectivity, such as WSDL configuration, endpoint exposure, or transport security expectations.

  4. Whether using a mock server internally (for development/testing) aligns with the expected workflow before connecting to an external IIS or registry endpoint.

Our goal is to ensure that our implementation aligns fully with the ONC certification testing requirements.

If there are any documentation references or implementation guides related to SOAP connectivity for the NIST Immunization Test Tool, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share them.

Thank you for your time and support.
