[For those who have registered on facebook, I am sorry but you would have already received part of this message. Our group needs an adminstrator - any volunteer(s)?

Updates:

1. Pls complete the contact list. If you have not received the email which notifies you the path of the contact list. pls let me know. We need your Chinese name and availability/indication on which subgroups you wish to join.

2. Grateful if you would contribute to the discussion boards - we have practical problems to be resolved.

3. The working group training session has been moved to 10 June (Wed) 7:30pm.

4. Aside from Gansu Province, some of our schools in Yunnan have been reported to have been affected by the earthquake (cracks have emerged). We are looking for members who may be available in June to inspect these schools. The working group will last for 7-8 days. I will try to arrange it with 9 June inclusive. If you are interested, let me know.

Basically, our plan is:
1. first working group tentatively in mid-June subject to the condition in Gansu

2. target to send 3 working groups to Gansu: each with:
- 1 team leader with prior working group experience,
- 1 with structural experience
- 1 with geotechnical experience
- 1 social worker
(nb: proficiency in Putonghua essential, knowledge of Gansu dialect will have absolute advantage!)

3. working groups to other areas will be arranged in due course (available every month, our ultimate goal is to have one engineer per working group in future)

4. design vetting and progress monitoring in Hong Kong

5. progress monitoring on site (may need to stay there for a few months, if you can do that, please let me know)

6. R&D on material sourcing and design development in Hong Kong

1. Complete the survey form (login gmail: sowers512, pwd: 512sowers) if you are interested in joining Gansu or any other working groups.
2. Suggestions on workflow improvement, eg critical stages to be monitored. (write on discussion board)
3. If you know of anyone who can speak to the group on building assessment or modification works, pls call me.
4. Those interested in the Gansu working group, please register with Hoi Yan (hoiya...@yahoo.com.hk), we will arrange for your attendance at the training session on 5 June. As there are limited seats, selected Gansu working group members will have priorities.
5. Those interested in all kinds of working groups, please attend training session on 11 June (Wed) - NOTE change of date.
