HK trip during Christmas Holiday

Hi gang,

 

How are you guys doing these days?

I am going to arrive Hong Kong 10:00pm Dec 25, 2008, planing to stay at Hong Kong for that night, then heading to Shenzhen Dec26 afternoon and staying there for a few days.

 

Any suggestion of a good restaurant for the Hong kong night (good price, safe, convenient to reach from airport and to shopping malls)? need to get it booked now.

... and any idea of gathering together, either HK or SZ,  to give me a chance figuring out "who becomes fat who becomes old?"

 

Appreciate your suggestions.

Anyway, one option here http://www.mexan-harbour.com/hk/about.html - it is up to you to decide whether it is good or not, no idea if the price is good for you, it locates next to my working place in Tsing Yi so guessing it is safe and welcome to my office if you are going to stay there, you decide if it is convenient to take 25min. to airport by train and 15min. to shopping mall, i.e., Maritime Square http://www.maritimesquare.com/ by mini-bus.

my destination in Shenzhen is She Kou, so thinking about to go thru the Shenzhen Bay Bridge.

anyone know where to take transportation in Hong Kong, how long it will take to the custom, and how much?

With 2 kids and luggage, I think you have no choice but to take a taxi.

Anyway see below for the information you requested.

港島去深圳蛇口的巴士有兩條線路--去天水圍的969和去屯門的962，西行方向與電車基本同線路，集成中心附近有車站，到了天水围或屯门倒换一次 过境车即可。早上十點半離家，車牌上寫著半小時一班車，等候不到十分鐘，962和969接踵而至。據說969會穿越隧道，路程短些，于是上了去天水圍的 969。車資21元，天！恐怕是香港最貴的巴士費了，難怪政府要補貼天水围跨區上班人士車費津贴。

車子直奔天水圍，司機大佬竟然不知在哪個 站下車換乘去口岸的車B2，胡亂一指，累我們早了一個站下車。從新建的西鐵一端進站，穿過長長的整個站臺，花了十分鐘時間，把“欄桿拍遍”，才從西鐵盡頭 的B出口出來，往口岸的線路B2車站就在那里。唉，幸好此行純為當個閑人，沒有目的，只需享受過程，無端增加一個游覽西鐵站的節目，也無甚怨言。

B2 起點車站和969的天盛苑車站是同一個地方，奇怪的是969站臺的線路圖上毫無相關說明。難怪連司機也不知道在哪個車站換車----太不像香港人的工作作 風。或許B2不是香港的巴士？B2車資8.5元。咦？969是21元，B2是8.5元，從港島到深圳灣，兩條線路加起來不到30元，路程近乎2小時，這樣 一算，比灣仔到皇崗直通巴士40分鐘車資45元，可是從港島到深圳最便宜的交通費。
