When Boston is still trying to walk out from the shadow of Marathon Bombing, a natural disaster befell China. A 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Ya'An in Sichuan province on April 20th, 2013. This catastrophe has caused at least 192 deaths and more than 11,000 injuries. The lack of shelter, medical care, food as well as clean water makes the situation even worse, aggravated by frequent occurrences of secondary disasters - landslides, debris flows, and aftershocks.
With great empathy towards the earthquake-afflicted people, now, it's the time to take action, to help them step out of this nightmare. Right here, right now, Harvard Chinese Students and Scholars Association (HCSSA), HKS China Society, and HSPH CSSA co-initiate the donation for the quake-stricken region. May our modest contribution bring love, hope, and strength to the people of Ya'An!

Where will the donation go?
The total amount of donations received will be sent directly to the Chinese Consulate General in New York, where givings from various sources will be gathered and sent to the “Ya'An Earthquake Relief Special Account” under the Chinese Ministry of Finance via the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The receipt of donation from the Chinese Consulate General in New York will be posted on our Online Donation Platform at http://fundly.com/ya-an-sichuan-china-earthquake-relief.

2013年4月20日，四川省雅安市芦山县发生7.0级地震，震源深度13千米。截至北京时间4月22日上午7点，遇难者人数已达192人，失踪25人，受伤11460人。
这场突如其来的地震给灾区同胞造成了巨大的物质损失和身心创伤。身在哈佛的华人学生学者纷纷表达了对受灾同胞的关心，以及捐钱捐物的强烈愿望。哈佛肯尼迪政府学院中国学生学者联合会现发起本次捐助活动，为中外学生学者提供一个团结起来出钱出力的平台，共同帮助灾区同胞早日重建家园。本次活动所得款项将由哈佛大学中国学生学者联合会第一时间交付于中国驻纽约总领事馆，由外交部汇总后转入财政部四川芦山地震 专项账户。由中国驻纽约总领事馆出示的捐款证明将在在线募捐平台（http://fundly.com/ya-an-sichuan-china-earthquake-relief）公示。
地震无情，同胞有情。善款有限，爱心无限。山崩地裂无法撼动四川人民的坚强和乐观；万水千山不能阻拦我们对同胞的关怀和祝愿。哈佛肯尼迪政府学院中国学生学者联合会呼吁各位学生学者积极参与本次募捐活动，也发动国际友人们贡献爱心。
