Hi all,

Over the years I have been collecting data on a variety of domains as to
whether or not they provide services via IPv6. Having an address
assignment from APNIC is all well and good but are you actually doing
anything with it?

I have recently rewritten the script I use to do that and as part of
that process I have leveraged PeeringDB data to create a category for
organisations connected to the HKIX. What I am trying to do is determine
if a domain has services accessible via IPv6. The services I check are:
Web, Mail (SMTP and if announced via SRV records submission, imap and
pop3), DNS, NTP, XMPP and SIP. I also flag some configuration errors,
such as non responsible DNS servers, errors in SPF records, broken
certificates, etc.

The section related to HKIX is

<https://www.mrp.net/ipv6_survey/#hkix>

but if you start at the top of the page it (hopefully) explains the table.

If you click through a domain name then you will see a "diagnostic" file
that attempts to show what is going on, perhaps helpful if a problem is
detected.

Also included is DNSSEC even though it is agnostic to the transport but
I was curious to see what the take up was like and if you think IPv6 is
poor wait until you see DNSSEC :-(

Regards,
Mark.
