What do people think of meeting at a coffee shop a block or two from
HKN Headquarters, immediately before the meeting? We could meet
around 10am and walk over to the meeting with nationals together at
10:30. We don't need to solve the world's problems in a half hour,
but it would be nice for everyone to have met each other and have a
very basic idea of where all the students stand going into the meeting
with nationals. Any interest?

Our plane arrives at like 5AM, so why not? So long as the place isn't
terribly tricky to find, I think we will attend.

Sounds good to me. Just name the place and we will be there.

Hey, I go through that area almost everyday so I might suggest you guys
meet at the pre-meeting at Union Station. It is a train station and is
exactly 2 blocks west of HKN HQ has a lot of seats so many people can go
there. There are also many restaurants in there. Tell me what you think.

Anup,

Since you're probably more familiar with the area than anyone else,
can you suggest an exact meeting spot? I know Union Station is huge,
and I believe it is connected with a set of tunnels ranging several
blocks. What intersection should we enter at, and where precisely
should we meet? If it's a big food court, can you suggest a
particular restaurant to meet in front of?

Thanks,

- Andrew

The best entrance to use is the Adams Street Entrance, which is two
blocks west of the headquarters and just about 50 feet west of the
river. It is on Adams Street (same as HQ) and along the river. Once
you enter the station, there should be a Jamba Juice and a Krispy Kreme
restaurant to your left. Do not go down the stairs but instead go left
and after about 50 feet, there is a general dining area with a lot of
seats. If you pass the Pizza Hut, you have gone too far. Unfortunately
I will be out of town on Friday but my cell phone number is
630-903-9292, Feel free to call me if you get lost. I have the area
pretty much memorized so I can assist you over the phone. Don't worry
about waking me up. This is a map of the Union Station:

While I realize posting information as personal as a cell phone number
on this thread would not be such a hot idea. There should be some way
of getting someone who knows the area to have a known phone number to
the representatives that will be coming to Chicago so that in the case
that we can not easily find the Pre-Meeting location we will have some
focal point for finding out.

Rahul and I, from Alpha (UIUC) will be in the general dining area just
past Jamba Juice and Krispy Kreme, by 10am. We hope to see many of
you there. I am familiar with the area, and will email my cell phone
number to everyone who has posted on the "Representatives Going to
Chicago" page. Rahul and I will also be in suits.
