which has a strong position in the GSM and DCS mobile telephone
markets in Europe and offers GSM and DCS lines in Asia and PCS lines

new communications technologies (colour mobile phones, WAP, GPRS,
wireless PDAs, radiocommunication modules and modems, etc.).
NINGBO BIRD CO., LTD. was founded in Oct. 1992. The company's main
product is mobile phones, PDA and telecommunications system
equipment. BIRD is the most well-known listed company specializing in
the R&D, manufacture and marketing of mobile communication terminal
equipment in China.
Currently our business is expanding and we have a need for motivated,
qualified engineering professional to help us build our business. We
have recently built a state of the art plant in Ningbo to build
mobile phones and need the skills of an Engineering Product Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Project manage the development and initial production of a new GSM
mobile phone within the Mobile Phone Engineering Department
- Design, qualify and industrialise a GSM phone based on a GSM module
- Work extensively with overseas office in France, and local top
management in Ningbo Bird SAGEM
- Manage a team of around 10 engineers
- Take responsibility for pricing, scheduling and the quality of your
product
- Take responsibility for design, mechanical and test engineering
teams for your product
- Agree definition of the product with marketing department
- Follow up with manufacturing after design phase
All necessary product training will be offered to the successful
candidate. SAGEM offers new employees extensive training in our
operations in France. We also offer housing.

- Required experience:
- More than 5 years experience, with direct experience of the entire
lifecycle of a mobile phone development project, or other mass
consumer product
- Experience of managing a team of engineering professionals
- Experience of Cadence or Pro-E is necessary for success in the
position
Required skills:
- Telecommunications, Computer Science or other related technical
degree. A Masters degree is as strong advantage but not absolutely
necessary
- Team leadership and open, flexible attitude
- Ability to get the job done in the face of many tasks and challenges
