Hi all – Just saw this message shared from the SIRS as FYI:
Just wanted to alert the group to a patch of slippy road on the way down repulse bay road from the cricket club, just before the deep water bay road roundabout. There's a patch with what seems like cement on it that a few of us noticed a bit of wheel slipping this morning. Found out later that a couple of riders came off at the same spot.

Subject: Saturday Island Long Ride - 20th September (Meet 6:30am at Sinopec)
Ok this Saturday sees a break from the Lantau flats and a return to some hills on the Island (lest the legs forget how to climb)!.
The starting point will be 6:30am at the tradional meeting point at the Sinopec Service Station on Wong Nai Chung Gap road (next to the Hong Kong Cricket Club):
The route will be as follows:
- Starting point Sinopec (next to HKCC) at 6:30am
- Peak + Austin
- Tai Hang Road
- Chinese International School (via Lee Tak Tsuen Road)
- Back door Butler
- Sinopec again (regroup point + short drink refill stop)
- South Bay
- Roundabout to Headland Road Climb
- Chung Hom Kok Lookout
- Stanley Fort
- Coffee stop at Stanley Starbucks
- Red Hill Loops
- Bridge Climb (Tai Tam Hill)
- D's
- Cape D Lower Satellite (Dog town)
- Big Wave Bay
- Stop at Lulus coffee
- Climb out of Shek O and return the way we came
- Repulse Bay Road
- Home (or other options...)
Targeting ~100km+/4hrs+ riding time and as usual feel free to join for some or all. Forecast is hot and sunny with chance of some light showers. Lights please if you are joining at the start.
Reply only if you are coming so we know to look out for you. I will be riding at very steady/easy pace (as I have a race on Sunday) if anyone wants to join me on the fat burning slow train.
