Action Alert - Senate to Vote on International Affiars Budget This Week - massive cuts possible!

I wanted to share this very important action alert circulated today by the US Global Leadership Coalition -
It’s Halloween, but unfortunately, this isn’t a trick or a treat. The Senate is very likely to vote this week on the International Affairs Budget, and massive cutting amendments are a very real possibility. We have to mobilize right away. I need you to call your Senate contacts today and tell them to vote “no” on all cutting amendments to the State-Foreign Operations Appropriations bill.
The legislation should come to the floor later this week, and we have to be prepared to defeat a number of dangerous amendments, which will try to further slash essential programs that are already operating on bare-bones budgets. After you’ve made your calls, please activate your networks to do the same. Our quick and easy toolkit includes talking points and contact phone numbers for all 100 Senators. We are also placing a special priority on urging our Senate champions to come to the floor and speak against cutting amendments, as well as rounding up support from key Republican Senators. Please let me know which pieces your organization can help with. I will keep track of our efforts and report back as soon as we have more information on which amendments will be made in order. P.S.
