Hello music dorks,

Exciting news from Hive76!  At the next Music Effects Study Group meeting, we will be teaching a class on how to build and modify the Tube Screamer, a classic distortion pedal from the 70s.  We'll be talking about how the device changed over its 30 year history and how to mod your store-bought Screamer to sound like a relic.  And for $50, we'll be offering kits for making your own Tube Screamer-808 from scratch (compare that to a store bought pedal).   The kit will include a PCB, a metal enclosure, knobs and such, and all the electronic components you will need, including some choice op-amps from the 70s.

Important:  While we wait for the kits to be put together, we are postponing this class until the first monday in December (the 7th).  However, all are surely welcome to stop by this Monday (the 16th) at 7:30 to volunteer in assembling the kits -- you will learn the ins and outs of how to buy electronic components online -- ie how to use datasheets and part selector applications to determine if a part is suitable for a project.

We hope to see you all there at the class.
