Hi all -- great to meet you all (or most of you) in Baltimore.

I had an idea for the name of the group since there seemed to be
consensus that HAG wasn't going to cut it....

How about National HIV and Aging Group ("NhAG") or even National HIV
and Aging Advoacy Group ("NhAAG") (hopefully pronounced nag). It's OK
to hate it.... just an idea.

Also -- Later today (hopefully) or tomorrow I am going to post my
proposed public comment to the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/
AIDS (PACHA) on Monday. Pursuant to our discussions, my intent is to
inform the Council of our existence and begin planting the seed for
focus on the aging issue.

So stay tuned and I will appreciate any feedback

Hi -- again -- well there is a slight case of mistaken identity -- I
was aiming for the "aging and HIV" group -- which was just formed
after the Research Catalyst Forum ..... perhaps we can fold the 2
groups together? The new group is already 50 members strong from all
over the US and we obviously share a passion -- (thus the references
in my previous post on name change and statement to PACHA pursuant to
"discussions"

Sorry for the confusion -- but hopefully we can all work together!

Hi Jeffrey,

Will you please share information on the Research Catalyst Forum that you mentioned in your post?  Our organization, Older Women Embracing Life, Inc. (OWEL, pronounced "Oh Well") began in 2005 as a small support group for older women who are HIV+ and we are now a non-profit organization that provides support and education to over 300 women annually.

We would like to know more about the groups that are forming with focus on older adults.

Thank you.

Carolyn L. Massey, Executive Director, OWEL INC.

Hi all,

I'm a swiss Phd Student working on hiv and aging. I've joined the group thinking it was an international network. Is that group dedicated only to american researchers? There are few people in Switzerland, and more generally in Europe, who works on this topic.
I will be very pleased to work with you.

Hi Christel! This group is open to all! Welcome. The AIDS Community Research Initiative of America (ACRIA) is expanding and doing more work globally and we are very  interested in hearing about what you're doing in Switzerland.

Thanks!
