Over 100 people, which -- as many people noted -- is pretty darn
impressive considering the relatively high ticket price, and several
other fundraising events happening, including at least one across the
street! And, we did it for local causes, the Hawaii Blood Bank just
thrilled that so many people came out in their name, and the Hawaii
Red Cross volunteers having a good time, collecting a donations with a
backdrop of cranes from the Flock of Prayers team.
Jason Tom did a fabulous job with the entertainment, charging the
whole space with great energy. Angela Keen was warm and earnest and
helped keep the evening flowing (even as we started to watch the
clock). Bruce and Kelly, I can't say enough for how on top of things
you guys stayed, even when I was literally running around like a mad
man (and, eep, tripping over Neenz at one point!). Judi, Yaling, Lika,
you were fantastic ambassadors and greeters and hopefully still
enjoyed yourself despite living in a box most of the night. Vince's
last-minute digital sign was honestly one of the show stars, glowing
like a beacon of geek throughout the evening. High marks on the food
by Sakara, which definitely did not go to waste...
I'm forgetting people, so I'll stop. This really is just a collective
mahalo. Three years of Twestivals, three years of seat-of-our-pants,
grassroots, from-the-heart organizing from everyone. I love it.
