I was hoping to hear from more people, but we've got to move forward,
and it looks like Blood Bank of Hawaii is our leading candidate. Life
Foundation was a weak second, but it seems that people at that point
would prefer to consider groups not officially nominated. I'll send
BBH to Twestival HQ as our top candidate for their vetting process,
and will get in touch with BBH directly to see if they'd be interested
in working with us.
Mahalo, all!

One quick consideration (I know, last minute. Sorry).
I understand the benefit of raising funds AND being a good place to give
blood,
but I wonder about the safety of the latter. If a person gives blood, then
being down a pint then heads off to the bar... Just a mention, no idea if
it's a serious concern.
This reminded me of the irony of weddings, where we always bring our
best and most favored relatives together for a great celebration, then put
them in their cars (often inebriated) to drive home.
When you contact them, would you please ask them about this? Perhaps
we can have some virgin drinks for those who give blood? I'll bring some
peppermint ice tea!
Wishing safety and good health,
judi
The first reply back from Twestival HQ was expected, which was,
"Wouldn't they rather have blood?" I made the same points made here,
but asked them if it's going to be an issue, and if so, if we can
unilaterally pick a beneficiary that wasn't officially nominated.
Apart from Life Foundation, the other two weren't strong candidates.
