Yikes so worried about ticket sales.
OK... So I am working with Diamond Head Catering. Sakara actually got back with me (didn't have her number so called her Mom). I think the pizza is a great idea BUT logistics and keeping it hot and fresh are problematic. Also perceived value. I gave her a $300-$500 budget (since we've allocated $500 to drinks)... thinking out loud. We should probably just go with the $300.00
Might our ticket prices be too high?
Finally... I will pull in RT favors and see how much I can get rolling. Will ask Toby Tamaye and Paul Klink to do a big push... Maybe we do a raffle for the Japan fundraiser at the event (or is that against Twestival rules?) Just brainstorming...
Really need everyone to pull in favors and buy tickets. I am going to purchase 10 tickets today. Members let's make sure and buy your tickets ASAP if you haven't already so we can get those initial numbers up.
Finally, can we add Jeanne Marie Viggiano ( in...@jeannemariephoto.com ) to the list? She has offered help to promote and will be there to assist as well.
Thanks,
K
It is live on The Venue's flat panel screen outside the front door. Went "live" this weekend. Thanks Valentino for your hardwork on that!

While we cannot, at this late date, change our primary beneficiary (there was significant legal and tax work required to connect the Amiando and FirstGiving systems to HBB and each city's local charity), we can absolutely rally support for Japan relief during our event.
I've already reached out to the Hawaii Red Cross, and they are determining the feasibility of having an official presence at Honolulu Twestival. We may also be able to have a separate fundraising element, from a simple jar to something like (but not) a raffle. I've also asked the Aloha For Japan campaign if they'd like to have a table at The Venue.
Yes, the situation in Japan is top of mind for many, and understandably may overshadow our Twestival efforts. There is already a fundraising event coming together at Oceans 808 this Saturday, for example.
But both BBH and Japan/Red Cross are worthy causes (and the Red Cross told me that they work with and are a complementary cause with BBH). It's important to stress that the need for blood locally never subsides, and that there are dozens of small family crises here at the same time the world struggles to help Japan.
We will try to highlight Japan relief efforts as part of Honolulu Twestival, but we owe it to BBH and it's lifesaving work here at home to push forward under its banner.
Thanks,
Ryan
I'm going to try and get some posters printed and get them to Jason
Tom to spread around Chinatown. I'm thinking we're focusing a lot on
our existing networks, but they're feeling tapped out with our streams
still pretty much pleading from every corner for Japan (which isn't a
bad thing, but can drown out other messages).
Kelly, thanks for buying a bunch of tickets, and for bringing others
into the fold. Toby has retweeted and shared Honolulu Twestival as
well. Do you know Paul Klink well? He was focused on the Japan relief
event at Restaurant Row on Saturday, but perhaps now in the aftermath,
he'd be willing to lend some oomph to a local cause this week?

Paul K. is a dear friend from 20 yrs plus. I was indeed waiting for the event to pass. Will tap in to him now.

I do not see an Event for Honolulu Twestival. I see the page, but if we get the event page going, everyone, including Paul can invite their lists and friends. Maybe I am blind. Wouldn't be the first time I missed something.
Is there an Event ... for Honolulu Twestival created on Facebook??

The Venue needs to know what we need from them for set up for musicians... Who can give me the guidelines of the set up required?
Also we need a couple of longish costcos style folding tables for food to be served on ... You know the longish ones. Anyone have a couple of those?? The Venue has tables and a bar, but no real buffet type tables so they've requested we provide...
Diamond Head Catering is sending contract over sometime today... for food.
I think that is all...

Actually, I'm going to see him in about 40 minutes, so I'll remind him
then as well!
