Last year's Twestival was a modest affair, and I suspect the same this
year (nothing quite matches up to the rush of a 'first ever'). Still,
I'd like to again do something to continue to demonstrate Hawaii's
social media savvy as part of this global event.
Glad to hear support for the Food Bank or River Mission, and a neat
idea to include the Blood Bank as well. I'm attaching a PDF that
Twestival just published with its charity selection guidelines.
In short, we do need to make a public call for ideas, though we as an
organizing committee can select, but the charity has to be willing to
be a beneficiary, have a plan for the funds, and have a social media
presence. (Many deserving groups, I imagine, will qualify.)
I'll put out a basic call for suggestions/nominations as @hitwestival,
and your help in a retweet or two would be greatly appreciated! Let's
see how much we can get done virtually before calling a meeting. Also,
if you can think of anyone else who can contribute and volunteer some
time, please bring them to the table!

Ryan

We've sold 50 tickets, which was my "floor" for this smaller
Twestival, so I think whatever we can muster in turnout over the next
three days will feel great. There should be some at-the-door as well.
Can we hit 100? The thing is, our catering order with DH Catering
assumes a count of 50, so though it may be presumptuous of me, I think
the best use for your contribution is to bolster our food order if and
when it becomes necessary. Kelly, your thoughts? If this makes sense,
we can work on getting Vernon's donation to you, along with Farmers
Hawaii (which will need an invoice).
