Cognizance 2009 : Ek Soch: Prakriti Aur Urja

Dear Friend, This spring Cognizance- The annual technical festival of IIT Roorkee is launching a new event Prakriti and Urja , a paper presentation competition. "But what …….is it good for?" --Engineer at the Advanced Computing Systems Division of IBM, 1968 commenting on themicrochip.   "If people want to change, they will. If they don't want to, it's hard to make them do so. The current interest in the environment is a good thing. The best way to make a contribution in fashion is to promote the idea that a fundamental interest in preserving the environment is itself fashionable."-Giorgio Armani Einstein gave the idea of a green refrigerator in 1930. But it is after 70 years that the idea was brought to fruition. There has been a paradigm shift in the ideology of the world. It is no longer about reducing wastage or increasing efficiency of a product. It is about innovating to make your product Eco-friendly. The need of the hour is cleaner and greener technologies. Ever seen a product and felt you could do better? Ever thought of a crazy idea and felt you could implement it if given a chance? Cognizance '09 brings to you Ek Soch – Prakriti Aur Urja , a platform for all you guys who believe that you can change the face of the world with your ideas. There are also eminent speakers, professors and you know who's of the energy sector coming to this event to enlighten us all. There will be mentoring by the panelists for the selected entries. Timeline: Last date for entries:  Feb 28th List of shortlisted candidates will be put up on website by 10th March. The final round will be held during Cognizance. Note: Teams of 2/3 may apply.
