Thank you all for attending the first ever HITEC City JUG meeting. Amar
Pratap Rama Murthy, Anand Iragavarapu, Chakra Yadavalli (Myself),
Krishna, Nageshwar, Prakash Adidam, Rinesh, Praveen Babu Racha, and
Srinivas Ivaturi have attended the meeting. If I got the names wrong or
I forgot some attendee, please forgive me. :-)

Here are some important points we discussed in the meeting:

1. The JUG will conduct seminars/meetings on Second Wednesday of every
month. That is the next meeting will be on Jan 11, 2006. If there are
less than 40 members who RSVP'ed to the meeting, then we will have the
meeting at 503, Techno Enclave, Opp: Rahejha Mind Space, Plot#21,
Sector III, HITEC City, Madhapur, Hyderabad - 81. We need to find
another meeting venue if the attendees or more.

2. The JUG should also help the student and novice Java community in
shaping up their Java Skills. This may involve seminars on topics that
are not "hot" for experienced Java professional. For that we probably
need to conduct meetings during times and venues that are convenient
for such audience. For example, these meetings could be on Saturdays
when there are no walk-in interviews or holidays. These kind of
activities however need a sponsor to help with various program
activities.

3. We have formed three interim committees. These are formed on a
temporary basis to bring some structure of what we have to do as a
group. We will create separate mailing lists for each committee to
facilitate easier communication among those members.

* Program Committee is responsible for checking the JUG members' pulse
on selecting the topics for seminars, arranging sponsors and partnering
with other User Groups in and around Hyderabad, Bangalore etc. Chakra,
Amar and Praveen Babu Racha volunteered to be part of this committee.

* Editorial Board is responsible for providing content to our
www.HITECCityJUG.org website. This typically includes sharing news
about Java Technology, announcing Events such as Sun Tech Days,
Maintenance of forums, book review activities and other Mailing Lists.
Srinivas Ivaturi, Rinesh Amar and Chakra volunteered be members of this
committee.

* Web Chair is responsible for setup, configuration, development and
maintenance of tool required to conduct our JUG activities. Anand
Iragavarapu, Prakash Adidam and Chakra volunteered to be part of this
committee.

4. Once the Web Chair sets up the basic tool required (Mailing Lists
integration with Website), we will be requesting all the HitechCityJUG
Google Group members to register at www.HITECCityJUG.org. Sorry about
the double signup but it would be better to do this sooner than later.

So, please go ahead and sign up at www.HITECCityJUG.org the next chance
your get. I think this JUG is going to be big and stand as an example
for what a community can do! Thank you all for your support.

See you all at Sun Microsystems PCQuest Developer Summit on Friday Dec
16 at Taj Krishna.

Regards,
Chakra
