Hi All,
First of all as a complete aside - I want to let you know that this
campaign is far from over! This is just the start and we have well
over 400 supporters now. We have asked the Parish Council for all the
raw data from both surveys as it turns out that in order to inflate
their percentages they just ignored all those who specifically
answered "Don't know" to questions. In the meantime please:
* spread the word - www.mostsimply.com
* find places to display posters and
* keep writing your letters.
Don't leave it to others - "Apathy = 11 humps"
About the accident on Arlesey Road around 2pm earlier today. I spoke
to the drivers concerned and pleased to report everyone is ok and no
injuries whatsoever.
A lady coming out of Witter Avenue was driving an unfamiliar car and
mistakenly pressed clutch rather than brake. As a result her car went
into the side of a car driving out of the village along Arlesey Road.
He took action to divert and managed to narrowly miss a wall on the
other side of the road. Usual safety features of both cars kicked in -
crumble zones and air bags so no-one hurt :)
I wait for the official details from the Police but it seems very
clear from the damage to the cars and their final position (i.e. right
next to the Witter Avenue junction) that speed was NOT an issue.
We have also requested all the traffic survey data from Highways,
results of convictions from Police Speed tests, and details of all
accidents in the village. So watch this space!
Kind regards
Adrian
