iPhone app repeats

I'm having trouble with the iPhone app - when I try to take and upload a repeat, I get an upload error. Is anyone else experiencing this?

 I'm using an iPhone 4, iOS 6, v 2.0 of the HistoryPin app. I tried connecting via AT&T 3G instead of my university's wifi, with the same result.

Sorry you are having problems with Repeats, thanks for all the details you have provided. I think this is probably related to your iOS upgrade. We are working on making a few updates to the app and will be releasing an update very soon.

I'm on iPhone 4S iOS 5.1.1 and was also unable to upload a photo (no error though, just timed out). When I logged out and logged back in, it worked. Kristen, you might try that as a work around in the meantime.

Your suggestion to log out and log back in worked - thank you! I was able to upload some repeats... but they're all showing up on the HistoryPin website as stretched out and distorted.

Any other ideas on what might be going wrong? Since Google doesn't have Street View images for our campus, I would really like to have nice Repeats for our photos.

Hi Kristen

They do look a bit odd, but I'm wondering if this is the phone or the
app/site. The 'original' repeat image for that first one is

- could you take a look and compare it to the image that will have
been saved in your phone (not sure where the iPhone stores them, but
I'm pretty sure the app keeps a local copy). If you can, maybe post a
copy somewhere like http://shuttur.com/i which will then make for
easier comparison.

Sorry Rebekkah/Jon, don't mean to butt in but as a photographer I'm
intrigued by this.

Hm, I'm not sure if/where the HistoryPin app stores local copies on the iPhone - does anyone else know?

It looks like somehow the pixel dimensions of the photo were swapped at some point - 1000 x 750 instead of 750 x 1000 - but I've never seen that happen with any other photos I've taken on my iPhone.

Thanks for the data, we'll dig into this a bit and see what we can come up with.  Looks like we're having a couple of issues with Repeats at the moment.  I'll keep you posted.

Hi folks,

We've been getting a lot of bug reports on the iPhone app Repeats functionality and thanks to many detailed reports we think we've got a solution in place.  Currently a new version of the app is pending review in the App Store and we'll let you know as soon as that's live so you can see if this solves the upload and distortion issues.
