Here are my Answers/Opinions on the
"Roots of Rock/Urban Blues" questions

"To what degree did early rock music depend on sociological changes as distinct from technological developments?":
I think early rock music depended on both sociological changes and technological developments because if you think about it music changes with time. Also by putting any kind of music with the current events that were going on during the time makes it much easier for people to understand and to really relate to the music. So now new technological developments made artists better for making really great quality music and to market their music to more people then ever before.

"What were some of those sociological changes and how did they help create and popularize rock music?":
So sociological changes included many new instruments and also tons of new artists... With these changes and much more it gave some people a different look at music in many new ways. This definitely helped Rock and Roll a lot for it to travel through out literally the whole world by making it very popular then and for the future.

"How might the blues be different if slavery had never existed and African Americans had been welcomed immigrants in the United States?":
So I think that the music would've been kinda different because the African Americans would have had, some what the same learning skills and opportunities as the Americans did. Giving them all a chance to read and write differently. I'm thinking that Blues would have not been the same. Because this attitude, deep, soulish sound behind this kind of music is definitely what makes it so great and special... So Yes, Blues definitely would have always been great in America, but getting it to be as popular as it was before, but now with a different sound would have probably been much harder to do, since it would be different along this music genre.
