Soul Music, the very concept brings images of civil disobedience to mind due to its roots in african american history. Soul music, blues, and jazz are just a handful of genres that have immediate relation with civil rights. James Brown, (AKA-Seriously I don't have the time to write down all eighty thousand names you have dude) was the creator of the genre of funk music, he inspired hella people with good vibes and legit groovy music, what isn't there to love? James Brown, criticized by like posers, and stuff. But a new genre of music, invented and promoted by james brown with a direct inspiration from civil rights, obviously would gain popularity amongst various communities, and whatnot
