In what various ways did soul music and its performers affect the civil rights movement??

Black peoples were singing nstuff. So that provided a more equal field that allowed for advancement in the movement. Also some even sang songs in support of the movement like James Brown.

Civil rights leaders tended to admire James Brown much more than other great soul and Motown artists. What are some of the likely reasons for that??

He had a lot of energy and he was very patriotic. He had a few songs that were really about the roots of African American pride and even traveled to entertain troops in Korea and Vietnam.
