Everyone,

1. Here's a reminder as you read through William of Malmesbury's Gesta Regum Anglorum (GR or GRA): your reading lives will be made far easier if you make use of the reading guide I uploaded to Populi.

2. Also, you need NOT read his Historia Novella (History of My Times) which is bound together with the GRA in the old reprint version. It's a good read, but you need not read it for class.

3. Finally, remember to take down your William of Malmesbury commonplaces as you read!

Blessings,

CR Schlect

Mr. Schlect,

I'm confused about where WM's History of the Bishops of England fits in with the WM readings. Are we supposed to read it as well? Or are we just reading Gesta Regum for this class? I did look at the schedule again--and I looked through the study guide as well--but I couldn't find the Bishops reading mentioned anywhere except on the book list. Hope you're able to get some sunshine after those dark days in the archives.

Cara

Yikes. Yes, you are supposed to read Bishops. I do not have a study guide for it. Read the Gesta Regum first, then Bishops (aka Gesta Pontificum).

Sorry for the confusion,

Okay. Maybe no one else was confused. Thanks for the confirmation.
