As an FYI – I’ve reached out to the S&I Provider Directories folks as requested below (and have been following the initiative closely).

Subject: S&I Provider Directories Initiative – Focus on Direct

Direct Rules of the Road Participants,

We are reaching out to you on behalf of the S&I Framework’s Provider Directories (PD) initiative.

This week the PD core team decided to narrow the scope of its first use case to “standards for certificate discovery for Direct Project implementations only.” This decision was arrived upon based on the narrow timeframe to recommend implementation-ready standards for national rule-making, in order to support live Direct implementations.

Therefore, we wanted your field experience from the Rules of the Road effort - about what works and what does not work. Your input will be instrumental as we reconfigure the first use case to make it focus solely on Direct Project implementations.

If you are able to support this effort, please reach out to us with your availability. Also, if you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to reach out to Erik Pupo, S&I Framework Harmonization Support Lead, at erp...@deloitte.com.

Best,

Jas Singh

Brett,

Thanks. Redwood MedNet and our direct messaging trading partners will huddle and get some technical feedback headed to the S&I PDI team. Should be interesting as we have no plan at present for our certs to root up to a FBCA, and we are essentially doing ad hoc whitelisting of addresses during the current pilot testing phase.

With best regards,
