Direct Messaging: MU2 Veteran's Speak Out Webinar

If you are interested, I am participating in a HIS Talk webinar on setting up Direct Messaging using a Direct Trust HISP called DataMotion with our MEDITECH EHR.

The webinar does somewhat focus on the DataMotion/Meditech connection for Direct Messaging, but anyone that needs a better understanding of the work involved to get Direct Messaging going to meet MU2 can probably benefit. I know the technology is relatively new, but once we get all Health Care IS systems using Direct Messaging, it will really open up what can do as an industry with Health information integration between any system. This technology will really benefit patients in the long run, as getting a patient's health record to any provider can be done in matter of minutes versus the days/weeks it can take today.

Partnering with a DirectTrust HISP was one of the best moves we could make, as we only need to manage the secure handshake between our EHR and the HISP. The HISP can then easily and securely integrate with any other DirectTrust participant. This setup enabled our EHR to make a secure exchange of patient data without the need for our IS team to set up a secure connection for every recipient EHR.
