Does anyone know anything about this?  We are on STAR and have not heard anything.

3M™ Health Data Management System (HDM) units of service survey

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requires encoding software to allow partial units of service. Beginning with the 3M™ Coding and Reimbursement System (CRS) v6.35 (January 2018 GA) release, CRS will enable coders to enter partial units of service (between .001 and 9999999.999) in the format of 11 digits with decimal precision.

Some 3M™ Health Data Management System (HDM) products must be updated to enable them to receive and store partial units of service from CRS in the new format. (Currently, the HDM products support five digits for units of service without decimal precision.) The affected HDM products are:

  • 3M™ Ambulatory Revenue Management Software (ARMS)
  • 3M™ Health Record Management System (HRM)
  • 3M™ Health Record Management Audit Expert (HRM AE)
  • 3M™ Audit Expert System (AES)

Additionally, your billing system and other systems that receive units of service from these HDM products may or may not currently accommodate the new units of service format. You must ensure these systems can accept partial units of service in this format.
