When users follow a broken link or enter an erroneous URL, instead of the browser's internal default error status page, they see an internet page of advertisements. Password-protected Web sites or pages will prompt for a missing or required user name and password via a pop-up request, this HTTP Basic authentication uses the same mechanism as HTTP errors, thus Internet Optimizer inadvertently interferes and makes it impossible for the user to access password-protected sites or pages.

The TCP Optimizer is targeted towards broadband internet connections, however it can be helpful with tuning any internet connection type, from dialup to Gigabit+ :) It is completely free, works with most Windows versions from XP to Windows 11, requires no installation, and has been downloaded over 10 Million times over the years.

SG Vista TCP/IP Patch - NOT required if using the TCP Optimizer
Description: The SG Vista TCP/IP patch us a quick way to optimize Vista TCP/IP settings for broadband internet connections. It sets both netsh auto tunning levelsand modifies the Windows Registry as recommended by our Vista Tweaks article. It is recommended to run the patch when logged in withadministrative priviledges. The patch allows for reverting all settings to their respective Windows default values as well. Note you may have to right-click the link above and choose "Save Target As..." to save to your computer. To apply, save to your desktop and run as administrator (right-click -> run as administrator). Type Y when prompted to optimize parameters.
OS: Windows Vista 32/64, Server 2008 version: 1.5 date: 01/24/2010 filesize: 4.86KB

A network optimizer can address various factors that contribute to slow internet speeds, such as network congestion, latency, packet loss, and bandwidth limitations. By fine-tuning your network settings and making necessary adjustments, these optimizers can help reduce lag, boost download and upload speeds, and optimize your online gaming or streaming experience.

Speedify is an innovative network optimizer that combines the power of multiple internet connections to provide faster and more reliable browsing, streaming, and gaming experiences. It uses channel bonding technology to seamlessly blend Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and cellular connections, eliminating any connectivity issues and maximizing your internet speed. Speedify also offers robust encryption to ensure your online activities are secure and private.

cFosSpeed is a popular network optimization tool that focuses on improving internet speed for online gaming and VoIP applications. It prioritizes network traffic, reducing latency and packet loss for a smoother gaming experience. cFosSpeed also offers a wide range of customization options, allowing you to fine-tune your network settings according to your specific requirements.

SG TCP Optimizer is a free network optimization tool that allows you to tweak TCP/IP settings to optimize your internet speed. It provides an intuitive interface with various optimization profiles for different connection types. SG TCP Optimizer analyzes your current network settings and suggests optimal parameter values to maximize your internet performance.

Connectify Hotspot is not just a network optimizer but also a powerful Wi-Fi hotspot software. With Connectify Hotspot, you can turn your Windows computer into a virtual router, allowing you to share your internet connection with other devices. It provides advanced settings for optimizing your hotspot and offers Wi-Fi boosting features to enhance the range and signal strength.

Auslogics BoostSpeed is a feature-rich software that includes various system optimization tools, including a network optimizer. It optimizes network settings to improve internet speed, adjust DNS settings, and prioritize network resources for better performance. BoostSpeed also offers disk cleanup, registry optimization, and other system tools to enhance overall system performance.

After reviewing and comparing these 7 network optimizers, we can confidently say that each one offers unique features and benefits. The choice of the best network optimizer depends on your specific needs and preferences. If you are looking for a comprehensive solution with channel bonding technology, Speedify might be the right choice for you. On the other hand, if you require advanced network monitoring and bandwidth prioritization, NetBalancer could be the ideal option.

There are a lot more options on the Tcp Optimizer app - and a lot of stuff I have no idea about. But it did have some of the registry key/value pairs that I remember were set with the Verizon optimizer tool: Tcp1323Opts, GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize, etc. So, I saved my current settings (another nice feature of this app) and let the app pick the optimal values. I rebooted and went back to the speed test and still got 25 down/7 up. Then, I found this: -northeast-Which-speed-test-is-most-accurate-for-Fios - the 3rd post from the bottom by Raphion. If you're interested in upload speeds, this is an important post. I chose (4096 * 64 = 262114) as my 'DefaultSendWindow' and 'DefaultReceiveWindow'. Note: these keys did not exist in my registry - I had to create them. After rebooting, I got 26 down/20 up!

It's interesting how much the DrTcp recommended receive window size (255552) differs from the Tcp Optimizer (1045440). Note: I believe the Verizion optimizer tool also uses the 1045440 value - at least it did on my Windows 2000 machine. I ended up using a combination of numbers from the two programs. I like the 262114 number since it's a multiple of 4096 (supposedly the thing to do if you follow the smallvoid link). You _can_ calculate these numbers on one of the tabs on the Tcp Optimizer tool but you need to know stuff about latency and I really had no idea what to put there. Ultimately, I just chose the 262114 number since it seemed like a more reasonable default window size than 1045440 and was close to the DrTcp recommendation of 255552.

In busy households, other devices doing big downloads or software updates can cause frustrating interruptions. Internet Optimiser addresses this by letting you manage your online traffic and decide which devices and apps get first priority. It also lets you control how and when the different internet users in your house can access your home network.

No, Internet Optimiser only works on your home internet network. It does not work on any Telstra mobile network. If your smart modem switches over to the 4G Mobile backup, your Internet Optimiser will not prioritise usage until it switches back to your home internet network.
