Purpose:
  • To bring awareness among the citizens of Bangalore about the Complaint System against Auto Rickshaw drivers demanding excess fare, cheating etc.

Audience:
  • All Oracle employees at Bangalore.

Announcement:

The various offences for which one can lodge a complaint…

  1. Refusal to ply (Any destination!!!)
  2. Demanding excess fare
  3. Rude Behaviour
  4. Cheat the public, for e.g. taking longer routes.
  5. Faulty Meter
  • Note the vehicle number (KA-XX-YY-ZZZZ) and email the details at the link available under grievances at http://rto.kar.nic.in
  • Based on the prefix XX (for example KA-01), complaint will be sent to one of the ten RTO offices in Bangalore and adjacent taluk areas.
  • Alternatively, one can also call these offices at the number given below based on the vehicle number prefix and directly lodge a complaint.

  • Once the complaint is received at the corresponding office, a notice is issued to the address of the vehicle’s registered owner, requiring him/her to turn up at the RTO office within 7 working days.
     
  • Every RTO has about 10 IMV’s (Inspector of Motor Vehicles) who seize the vehicles which don’t report to the RTO.
Note:
 
  • There is also a Bangalore Traffic Management Centre Automated Complaint Booking Telephone Number - 080-25588444  & 080-25588555 available 24x7 on which one can call to lodge complaints over voicemail. Complaints can also be posted on official site of Bangalore police www.bangaloretrafficpolice.gov.in. The Traffic Police have also taken an initiative to distribute one lakh self-addressed complaint cards.
