Hiram Eclipse Watch
Join us at Hiram College for Viewing of the Solar Eclipse
Monday, August 21, 2017 • 12:30 to 4:00 PM
The eclipse will take place from 1:07 PM – 3:52 PM local time. Hiram will experience a deep partial solar eclipse. At maximum, 80 percent of the Sun will be covered by our Moon.
In our area maximum eclipse will be reached at 2:32 PM EDT.
What's Happening?- Our free event will take place on the campus of Hiram College along Hayden Street, north of the village Post Office.
- Members of the public of all ages are enthusiastically invited to attend.
- Free eclipse viewing glasses will be offered (while supplies last) for safe enjoyment of our amazing Sun. Depending upon turnout, we may need to limit one viewer per family.
- Solar-equipped telescopes will provide close-up views of the eclipsing Sun and its atmosphere.
- Hosts will offer descriptions of the eclipse occurrence and be available to answer questions.
- Television coverage of the total solar eclipse will be shown indoors via a classroom projector.
- Cars park on nearby village streets.
- Indoor restroom facilities will be open.
