Hi folks,

I need to point my clients and students to a free, online site viewer
that will show how SE's see their site. I've been ransacking my files,
bookmarks, brains (and of course, searching) and can't locate
something that doesn't involved installing a new browser, or changing
browser settings.

I KNOW there's are least one out there - anybody have one in their
tool belt?

Thanks,

I tend to just view the cached version of a page in Google, and then select the text-only version.  Only caveat is that the page has to first be indexed, of course.

Nice idea, Chris.

Excellent and simple, forgot it was there - a great way to show
people who already have a site (all done in graphics, fer cryin' out
loud) why they should go to the trouble of following my #1
recommendation that they redesign it for text. Had one of those
recently.

Nice free tool for a quick "all in one" view of a page's contents and
structure.

I'm hoping to find (or relocate) a tool that will show "absolutely
nothing" in a browser window/wysiwyg when you view a page e.g. done
all in graphics for example. I'm still hunting down tools, when I find
it I'll post it.

(I also have to be a tad careful about recommending free tools
available at sites that are selling something. It's not the selling
I'm worried about, it's whether the company doing the selling, and
their products, are good ones or not! seobook.com has my thumbs up.)

Yeah, I think it's owned by Aaron Wall. If I'm not mistaken he is the
closest thing to an SEO "rockstar" that there is - LOL.

Agreed. Aaron Wall is amazing. All his stuff is good. Very
intelligent young man.

I've seen him speak at conferences. He's interesting in person, but
his writing and tools are really amazing.

Hello again,

I found the online tool for viewing your site as if in a text browser
- it was exactly what I needed for on-the-fly exampling during a
class. It mimics the old lynxs browser, which I'm not even sure you
can get anymore.

So whatever happened to all the rumors that Google can now read images
and even flash? It looks like the tools mentioned are still not
showing images (except for alt tags) or flash.
