Indexing in hippo

Does hippo provide any out of box indexing for documents and pages ? 
Also how can we index documents and pages with elastic search ?

Hi Devendra,

Hippo's repository (the Jackrabbit repository) uses Lucene as an index. This index is kept up-to-date automatically.

If you want to integrate with an external index, like elasticsearch, the recommended strategy is to employ the Hippo Event Bus.

Think carefully about using an external index. There are certainly cases where this is desirable, but it adds an additional component to your system which needs to be maintained. In most cases the internal index is sufficient. I would explore first whether this is the case before deciding on an external index.

Hi William,

Does the lucene index the document or page ? Can we index the page.

Also the below link for elastic search is for indexing the document. How can we index the page with elastic search is it possible?

I want to index the page not document. So is it possible ?

If yes how can we index page with elastic search ?

What is indexed is content in the repository. For showing results on your site you need to implement some functionality:

Hi thanks for the reply. Can you let me know how can we create a custom button in channel manager for a page like we have page copy, edit and view . I need one button which before publish the page do some task like send email etc. I need this button on page not on document.
