Free forever?

With all the up and coming plans I am curious how you guys are going to
support this project. You are incorporating, buying servers, etc. and
all of that cost money. will hipcal be free forever, or will you start
hosting ads(*cringes at the thought*), or will you let us donate or ask
for subscriptions? just curious because i wouldnt want this project to
ever fall down the drain.

Once our corporate status is finalized, we have several options for
supporting the project. The first will be selling t-shirts on the site
featuring everyone's favorite hippo (and other accessories I'm sure.)
After that we will most likely have subscriptions. The price would be
very very low, focusing on attracting users instead of making money.
The subscription would allow access to premier features of the site we
haven't implemented yet. The free version of the site would still be
extremely usable and have all of the features that are available now as
well as the long awaited updates. We'll post more on this in the blog
when that time comes (it won't be for a while.) Until then enjoy the
freeness! We're not going anywhere.

Thanks for all the "freeness". I dont see the ads the the above guy was
talking about but im glad i dont. As for a subscription i would
definately pay, depending on the features. Its great of you guys to pay
for all this out of your pocket.
