San Jose State dorms marked with swastikas, hateful language

Namaste,

You might have heard this incident which happened yesterday on campus. We as Hindu YUVA need to raise the awareness on SJSU campus that Swastika is a holy symbol for Hindus and that there is ABSOLUTELY no connection in any other symbol which many westerners confuses themselves with racist Nazi symbol. This is a sensitive matter but I feel we should take up to create awareness and educate people.

Hindu YUVA's presence on campus is hence important so that they create such awareness and to take up such topics, isn't it? :)

What do you guys think we can do?

“First, the University Police Department (UPD) has made enough progress in its investigation that we are able to share some details. One of the two swastikas discovered Tuesday was accompanied by undeniably hateful, anti-Semitic language (“Admit One Jew”). Police have identified the student responsible and determined that this act, while bias-based, targeted no one in particular and is not by definition a hate crime,” school president Mary Papazian said in a statement.
