HSS Yuva Sanghik report,
San Diego, February 21, 2016.
Namaste,
Like others, I can see many similarities between Sangh and the Ganga. For example- Ganga welcomes everyone open-heartedly, Sangh also embraces everyone. Serving the society is the ultimate goal of Ganga and in Sangh, regardless of your initial motives for joining the Sangh, you will always find yourself indulged in benevolent activities. As Ganga needs tributaries, Sangh needs members. Thus Sangh organizes Sanghik frequently where one can know more about Sangh’s ideology. Feb 21st Sanghik, HSS Yuva Sanghik, was one of them.
This Sanghik was supposed to hold at Torrey Pine State Beach at 10 AM sharp but because of foggy weather it was later held at Noble Park. The credit goes to all for their managing and coordinating skills because of which we did not lose much time.
Then we warmed ourselves up with some basic stretching exercises and Ardhakati Chakra Aasan. Later on, games like Kho-Kho, Ninja etc. were played. Finally, we played a game in which a leader, who was not blind, guided remaining two blind group members towards the target objects using non-verbal signs only. These kind of games are indeed best ways to build trust within group members and leadership in individuals.
After physical activity session, now was the time for intellectual activity. We had at least half an hour long Bauddhik session. The topic was regarding youth’s participation in society. ‘Should the Indian youth unite and come together? How and Why?’ was the highlight of the discussion. Several brilliant suggestions were brought up and with consensus, session got ended.
In the last, we did Prathna which was followed by lunch – the best part of any Sanghik – during which everyone opened up for an informal conversation!
Regards,
Shivam
