In Loving Memory of Shyam Krishna Jaitly ("Chachaji") – Funeral Arrangements

Dear Community members,

With deep sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Shyam Krishna Jaitly, affectionately known as “Chachaji,” on April 25, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on June 30, 1931, in India, Chachaji touched countless lives with his wisdom, warmth, and spiritual guidance.

He began his career in India as an income tax lawyer and later worked as a salesperson for the Bata Shoe Company. In 1986, he moved to Albuquerque to be with his daughter, son-in-law, and cherished grandchildren. It was here that he experienced a profound spiritual awakening, earned his LPCC license, and became both a licensed spiritual counselor and an ordained priest.

Chachaji devoted himself to the service of others—teaching yoga, offering spiritual guidance, and becoming a pillar of the Hindu Temple Society of New Mexico (HTSNM). Known lovingly as “Chachaji the Guide,” he will be remembered for his compassion, selfless service, and unwavering spiritual strength.
