A Call for Board Nominations

[Hindu Temple Society of New Mexico]

To all HTSNM Members,

 

It’s time once again to invite nominations for the Board of Trustees. If you know someone who would make a positive contribution to our temple, please send in your nomination by November 8th, 2024 by 5 pm. If you would like to become a voting BOT member, please work with an existing Board member to nominate you. Otherwise, if you want to volunteer as a non-voting Advisor to the BOT, you may nominate yourself.

 

A candidate for Trustee should meet the following conditions:

1. Eighteen (18) years or older on 1st January of the year in which the term of the Trustee begins.
2. A HTSNM member with paid membership by June 30th preceding the election date.
3. A citizen or legal resident of the United States.
4. Not a salaried employee or a contractor of HTSNM or the Temple,
5. No personal, financial, business or fiduciary interests that conflict with those of HTSNM.
6. No close relative serving as a Trustee whose term overlaps the term of the Trustee position.

It’s also desirable for a Trustee nominee to have experience as a Temple volunteer for two years.

 

We’re looking for nominees who have the expertise or desire to volunteer in the following areas (but not limited to):

• Accounting & Bookkeeping
• Building/Facilities Management
• Community and Volunteer Services
• Community Outreach & Public Education
• Cultural Events Planning
• Fund Raising
• Hindu Outreach
• Legal affairs
• Managing Balvihar
• New Temple Planning
• Public Relations
• Safety and Security
• Strategic Auditing
• Student Coordination/Liaison
• Temple Event Coordination
• Website and Technology
