) Even as Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has filed a legal suit against a US-based website over what is said to be a scurrilous campaign against him, leaders of the ruling party are refusing to comment on the issue.
"It's too hot an issue to comment upon," said a senior Congress leader when asked about a cyber campaign against party president Sonia Gandhi's son ahead of crucial Uttar Pradesh polls, where Rahul is expected to be the party's star campaigner.
Rahul's lawyer Abhishek Singhvi has sent a legal notice to two people - Rohit Vyassman and E Z Bode who are apparently behind the blog that makes unsubstantiated and disparaging charges against the Amethi MP and his activities in his constituency.
"It is high time that civil society took note of this dirty campaign," Singhvi said.
Congress leaders admit that such personal campaigns against Rahul had increased ever since media reports suggested that he would lead the Congress campaign in Uttar Pradesh. "It shows the desperation in our opposition camp," said a leader, who does not want to be identified.
Although the news item has been on the US-based website - Hinduunity.org, which claims to be the official website of the Bajrang Dal.
Incidentally, several websites - mostly foreign - have picked up the news item. Sources said the Gandhi family was furious at a "perverted and nasty" campaign against the 36-year-old bachelor MP. Although the campaign and the blogs had been brought to the notice of many senior Congress leaders, they were reluctant to respond to it earlier.
"It is true that we came to know about it. But we did not want to take up the issue. You do not anything about what goes wrong in the Congress party, especially when the issue is about the Gandhi family," admitted a party leader who requested that he be not identified.
Added another: "No sensible Congress leader would make a comment nor would they take a pro-active role to counter it. One never knows when the issue could boomerang."
Earlier, the US magazine Newsweek had to apologized after it claimed thatRahul Gandhi was not even a graduate and that he had never held a steady job in a multinational company as he claimed.

On 3rd December 2006, Rahul Gandhi was camping at Amethi along with 7 others including 4 foreigners (two from Britain and other two from Italy, names not known).
Around 9 P.M all of them were drinking liquor at a V.I.P. guest house in a high security zone. They had an uninvited guest, a young girl named Sukanya Devi, 24 years of age, a staunch follower of Nehru-Gandhi family and daughter of Congress worker Balram Singh.
Sukanya was looking for an opportunity to meet Rahul Gandhi since last two years and on that fateful night she was able to meet him. Sukanya's family has been supporting the Congress party since the time of Nehru.
When she met Rahul he spoke to her for a couple of minutes and later he and his friends offered her liquor. Sukanya was amazed seeing all this, she was not feeling comfortable, she refused to have liquor and took permission to leave, but she was forced to stay back and drink. She kept resisting, but they raped her one by one. She cried for help, but her cries fell on deaf ears. Even the security personnel preferred to remain as mute spectators.
She kept weeping all along and was threatened and asked to keep her mouth shut. She was given Rs.50, 000 /. She straightaway went to the local police station. The police refused to book any complaint and asked her to go home.
Before she could reach home, Congress workers had gathered at her house and gave a different version of the incident to her father. They accused her of trying to seduce Rahul Gandhi. Her father Balram Singh, without giving her a chance to explain what had happened to her beat her up mercilessly. Balram Singh learnt the facts from others who were witness to the crime, but he preferred to remain quite as he did not want to challenge Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party.
Sukanya's mother Sumitra Devi, who learnt about the whole incident immediately went with her daughter to Police HQ in Amethi. The Police officials refused to book any complaint and advised her to remain quite. She went from pillar to post pleading for justice, but no one heard her pleas.
Sumithra Devi gave a statement in a press conference with a very thin attendance and there she was confronted by Congressmen who physically assaulted both mother & daughter. On 27th December 2006 Sumithra Devi went to New Delhi to meet Sonia Gandhi. Sonia refused to meet her. With no options left she went to Human Rights Commission who just noted down her complaint and asked her to leave.
The Congressmen have threatened to kill both Sumithra Devi and her daughter Sukanya if she makes the rape issue public. Both the mother and daughter are in despair trying to seek justice. Both mother and daughter were camping in New Delhi for over a fortnight to get an appointment with the President of India. They have not got an appointment either with the President or with the Chief Justice.
Both mother and daughter are now in hiding. If the Congressmen don't kill her, the Opus Di (secret service of the Vatican) definitely will. It is important that we locate Sumanthra Devi and Sukanya, offer them protection

The owner of a Hindutva website has been sent a legal notice by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for publishing slanderous literature about him. The website run by NRI Rohit Vyasman -
hinduunity.org - had been banned by ISPs inIndia following a Mumbai police request in April 2004 for propagatinganti-Muslim articles.
After the original posting on Rahul Gandhi on the website had been copied by other websites, Rahul Gandhi decided to trace where the original write-up had come from.
Senior lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi's legal notice said "this publication exceeds and excels even the worst standards of scurrilous, perverted gutter writing - acting at the behest of maliciously motivated elements who cannot stand Rahul Gandhi's standing and popularity in India and abroad." We intend to prosecute you and conspirators under all relevant civil and criminal laws."

NEW DELHI: A tough legal notice has been sent on behalf of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to a man in the US for allegedly posting a malicious report about him on a website.
Party spokesman and senior lawyer Abhishek Singhvi, who sent the notice to Rohit Viasman and Ezboad Inc in San Francisco on Thursday, said Rahul intended to pursue the matter to its logical conclusion.
"My client shall make every effort to pursue you relentlessly for your misdemeanour and try to make an example out of you to deter such irresponsible writing," Singhvi wrote to Viasman and the company.
He said that Viasman, who had set up the website,
hinduunity.org, could not yet be traced. "We sent the notice to a post box belonging to Viasman," he said.
The response of the Congress leadership in dealing with the 'gutter stuff' weeks after it appeared on the site, seems to suggest considerable deliberations within the party about its approach to the issue.
There are indications to suggest that the party adopted the upfront approach as reports appeared in some newspapers referring to the website. Singhvi said that the matter would be taken up with the concerned government department to block the site.
What seems to have upset the Congress bosses is Viasman's professed links with Bajrang Dal. "They are defaming a great religion," Singhvi said, pointing to the name of the website and Viasman's alleged Sangh Parivar connections.
Congress clearly saw the report as an attempt to malign and defame the young leader. "In view of Rahul Gandhi's stature as a public figure and to obviate any notion that you can get away with such criminal and uncivilized behaviour, we are sending this notice to you," Singhvi said

Effects of keeping Nehru Gandhi family members s rulers of Bharat
_ If Gandhi-Nehru dynasty continues in Bharat for a few more years, Bharat will cease to exist as a Hindu majority nation. Rahul Gandhi is being groomed as the next PM of Bharat and may very well be a key policy decision maker of UPA from behind the scene.
While a sincere and patriot person like Narendra Modi is haunted by his own people, frauds like Rahul thrive in Bharatiya society. He has served notice to Hindu Unity for defaming him and UPA has shut down this site in Bharat.
There are only a few in our society who have guts to speak the truth and they are always condemned and persecuted so that the powerful in the society continue to molest weak and disadvantaged people.
A crime against women such as rape must result in a death penalty. Even Indra was punished for his cowardly act. Sonia Gandhi and her family members are like termites eating the very fabric that has given shelter and sustenance to them. It's time they are shown the exit door.
