The objectives of this course are to provide the necessary background and knowledge of the subjects for Proficiency in Survival Craft, lifeboats, rescue boats and liferafts. Upon completion of the online portion of the course, assessments and exam, the student will receive a certificate of completion meeting the requirements of the STCW Code Section A-VI/2 and A-VI/2-1.
USCG
Any applicant who has successfully completed your Proficiency in Survival Craft (Blended) (NOREMI-887) course will satisfy the competency requirements of Table A-VI/2-1 of the STCW, as amended 2010, for Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats (PSC) and will satisfy the professional examination and practical demonstration requirements of 46 CFR 12.407(b)(3) for endorsements for Lifeboatman and PSC. Applicants are not required to present completed record of assessment sheets when applying for the STCW endorsement.
Written Examination
This course consists of one written exam: Proficiency in Survival Craft Lifeboatman. The exam contains 50 questions and requires a 70% passing score. The written exam can be taken online through HALO Exams. You will receive 3 attempts for your exam. If you fail all 3 attempts, you must pay a retake fee of $50.00.
*In-person assessments carried out at Northeast Maritime Institute will not incur an additional fee. In-person assessments carried out at an approved NEMO Partner Facility location may require an additional assessment fee.
This one-day course is designed for all personnel working offshore. It provides the participant with a basic understanding of the capabilities and operation of the Totally Enclosed Motor Propelled Survival Craft (TEMPSC). MSTC currently uses both Watercraft (double fall) and Survival System (single fall) TEMPSC.
We have five operation launching davits and five TEMPSC in operation, allowing us to demonstrate winches and releasing gear. The participant will launch the craft, operate it in water, and recover it into the davit.

There are plenty of methods for gathering food in this survival game. You can hunt animals using the tools that you have created or traps that you have set. Moreover, you can also grow plants to feed yourself too. Hunting animals can provide instant food to you but it isn't a continuous food source as animals will vanish from the area pretty quickly. Growing plants is a much better option since it can provide a continuous source of food to you but it would require a great deal of preparatory work.
The controls of Survivalcraft Demo are very easy to understand and use. There are two buttons available on the bottom-right and bottom-left corners of the screen which are labeled Look and Move respectively. The move button is for making the character move in a certain direction while the "Look" button is for taking a look at the area in front of you. Clicking the button located on the top-right corner of the screen will make three icons appear. These three icons are for taking a screenshot, changing the first-person view to third-person view and finding out about the game. Below these three buttons is a button which can help you in getting into sneak mode.
Survivalcraft Demo doesn't only require you to find shelter and to gather food. You have to tailor make your own clothes and to mine other resources which you will need to survive on this uninhabited island. Aside from hunting animals to get food, you can also ride them to quicken your pace of travel. The animals that you can ride on in this survival game include donkeys, horses, and camels. Using these animals, you can herd cattle as well which will help you in solving your food and clothing problems. Survivalcraft Demo lets you make electric devices as well. However, do keep in mind that they are complex and will require the use of additional materials.
Survivalcraft Demo is a gaming app which is marketed towards people who like playing survival games. It offers them the chance to use their resourcefulness and creativity to come up with tools and crafts which can help them in surviving on a deserted island. It is certainly a game worth having on your phone.
