On Saturday 12th November, Cape Town based artist Heather Mac joins Durban's own acoustic duo The Hinds Brothers for a once-off performance at St Clements on Musgrave Road. The concert promises to be something special, offering excellent music, atmosphere and refreshments. Heather will be joined by her husband Mark Harris on guitar, and it will be her one and only concert in KZN for the year. Tickets are R60 and the show begins just after 7pm. Heather Mac rose to prominence in the South African rock music firmament in the early 1980s, as the lead singer of Ella Mental. The group had several hits and built up a dedicated fan base through dynamic live appearances before leaving for Ireland. They were signed by Warner Bros following a gig at the Marquee Club in London and moved to Los Angeles in 1989 to record their second album. Now, in 2011, she returns as a recording artist with her new album, Within, a collection of songs written over the past 20 years. After a successful run of her show, Acoustically Within, at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, Heather has been crisscrossing the Western Cape performing songs from her new album.
Singer/songwriters Aden and Wren Hinds, unite to form an incomparable duo. Acoustically driven, their song writing is insightful, lyrical and melodic, while their voices blend into an unmistakable harmony. These qualities, perfectly complimented by voices of great originality and beauty, make live performances by these young musicians an intimate, dynamic and unforgettable experience.
