आदरणीय मल्होत्रा जी,

 

इस प्रकार के Computer Aided Translation Tools (CAT) की उपयोगिता अंग्रेजी<>हिन्दी अनुवाद के कार्य में और बेहतर हो सकती है, यदि इनके उपयोगकर्ताओं की TM और TDB को सम्मिलित व समेकित करके उपलब्ध कराया जा सके।

 

यदि लोग अपनी TM को गोपनीयता के कारणों से share नहीं करना चाहें तो कम से कम उनमें से चुने गए द्विभाषी वाक्यांशों (Phrases) का तो योगदान कर ही सकते हैं। यदि इस संबंध में एक अभियान चला सकें तो सभी के काम में आनेवाला बहुपयोगी संग्रह बन सकेगा।

 

इससे मशीनी अनुवाद को बेहतर बनाने में मदद मिलेगी। अन्यथा अपनी अपनी व्यक्तिगत TM/TDB से तो सीमित कार्य ही हो पाएगा, अकेला चना भाड़ नहीं फोड़ सकता।

 

भारत सरकार के राजभाषा विभाग विभाग द्वारा सी-डैक के माध्यम से विकसित मन्त्र-राजभाषा अनुवादक सॉफ्टवेयर के पूर्ण सफल न होने का एक मुख्य कारण यही रहा है कि उपयोगकर्ताओं के TM/TDB भण्डार को संग्रहीत करके समेकित नहीं किया जा सका। इसके ऑनलाइन वर्सन के उपयोगकर्ता नगण्य हैं, क्योंकि शायद बैंड विड्थ कम होने के कारण यह अत्यन्त धीमा चलता है और फिर सभी उपयोगकर्ताओं के पास तीव्र इंटरनेट कनेक्शन उपलब्ध नहीं है। और फिर यह इतना यूजर फ्रेण्डली भी तो नहीं है।

 

दूसरी ओर गूगल ट्रांसलेट एवं बिंग ट्रांसलेट की सफलता का राज यही है कि इनके करोड़ों उपयोगकर्ता हैं और ये ऑनलाइन व यूजर फ्रेण्डली हैं इनके TM/TDB भण्डार में प्रतिदिन लाखों द्विभाषी वाक्य/वाक्यांश/शब्द स्वतः जुड़ते रहने से कोर्पोरा निरन्तर विकसित होते रहता है।
